From Founding President NAACC

Today when I look back at the NAACC history, spanning over a period of seven years I cannot but appreciate endeavors of a relatively smaller yet highly energetic development professionals’ group. This group belonging to professionals of north thought of establishing a consortium, an innovative idea that was ultimately turned into reality, that too first time in the history of Northern Areas.

Being the founding president of NAACC, I am at this moment proud that the dedication, sincerity, hard work and professionalism of our team made this consortium a well-reputed, well-equipped and well-established network of civil society organizations. With the blessings of Almighty Allah, the credibility and reputation of this consortium today is being recognized at national and international levels.

Its now my desire that all professional development workers should join their hands with NAACC to turn the beautiful land of north into an environment friendly place free of HIV/AIDS and all other contagious diseases.

             Ejaz Ahmed Khan

From Founding General Secretary NAACC

Being the founding General Secretary, I am extremely excited to present the first formal progress report of NAACC. It is indeed an honor for us as achieving NAACC’s outstanding progress in the form of establishment of NAACC and PNAC,

providing excellent job opportunities to professionals, providing funds to eight member NGOs to implement interventions on HIV&AIDS and STIs, successfully implementation of Tameer Project, awareness raising, sensitization, attitudinal & behavior change, creating enabling environment, reducing stigma & discrimination and myths & misconceptions associated with the epidemic, advocacy among stakeholders for mainstreaming HIV&AIDS, public private partnership and capacity building on contemporary subjects at local, national and International level was no less than a turning point in the history of the region.

Today NAACC is the only representative network, which despite having religious and cultural sensitivities towards the epidemic, formally initiated the HIV&AIDS prevention and control related interventions first time in the history of Northern Areas. This progress of NAACC is a milestone and we have to work till the mainstreaming of HIV&AIDS and to make region infections free.
